This is a condition of the lung. It is similar to many diseases which are due to mineral dust inhalation.

It is the result of prolonged exposure to asbestos and / or asbestos dust.

A diagnosis can be made from a chest x-ray and pulmonary function tests.

The disease can often take 10 to 20 years to develop.

Sufferers have severe shortness of breath and can be at an increased risk of several lung cancer types.
