IHT205(2006) Return of estate information HMRC
You can use this form as part of the probate process for excepted estates where the person died on or after September 1st 2006 and lived permanently in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.
An excepted estate is not liable to inheritance tax. If the estate you’re managing is excepted you can use this form and the accompanying guidance notes –Excepted estate information IHT206-2006-1 – to submit a probate application to HRMC.

Probate caveat form PA8A
You can use this form to apply for a caveat to stop probate proceedings if you want to contest a will or make a claim against an estate.
If someone you love has died and you don’t feel you’re going to inherit what is rightfully yours, you can use this form to apply for a caveat to stop the probate proceedings. That means the estate cannot be administered until your grievances have been discussed, giving you time to build a case regarding inheritance of the disputed assets.
Caveats can be applied for from the date of death until probate is granted and each one is valid for six months. Although this form is relatively straightforward to fill in, the process of contesting an estate is not.
